My Trunk Organizer (And what’s inside of it as a realistic mom always ready to say “yes!”)
As a momma on the go, I LOVE being able to say yes to spontaneous fun with the kiddos – but I don’t always love the clutter it can bring to the car. While searching for a solution that didn’t involve having to purchase a bigger car, I found this trunk organizer and absolutely fell in love!
Here are some items I added to my organizer to make adventuring with our family easier:
The Necessities
A Bible: Whenever I go thrifting, I always look through the book section for Bibles. Our family’s desire is to be ready to give a Bible to anyone who doesn’t have one. We’ve seen the Lord open doors for us to give out quite a few already!
Tire Inflator: My wonderful husband stocked my car with the best bang-for-our-buck necessities. This tire inflator has not only been a lifesaver on the road, but has also been handy for pumping up the kids’ toys!
Car Battery Jump Starter: If you don’t already have one in your car, do yourself a favor and order one! Before we knew about these, someone had to come rescue us with one. We immediately bought some for ourselves (and so we could help others!).
We also keep jumper cables in the car, just in case. But our go-to is this battery starter.
The product we had is no longer available, but I linked a similar one with good ratings.
The Fun Stuff
Pickleball & Frisbee: Sometimes you just need a little fun in a pinch! We’ve kept a few frisbees (including some frisbee golf discs in the organizer) and pickleball rackets. If these things help us enjoy the outdoors longer, I’m game!
We got our pickleball set from Target.
Clothes, Bathing Suits, & Sunscreen: In the top of the organizer, I keep extra clothes for my kids and bathing suits for all of us. This makes summer swimming an easy “YES” because I don’t have to worry about whether we have suits and a towel.
Raincoats/Sweaters for the Kids: When we're out and about, places can be colder than I thought when getting ready for the day. I like to keep a light jacket for each child in the car, and this organizer is the perfect place to store them.
Reusable Bags for Shopping: These are great to have on hand! From shopping, to holding extra clothes for our potty trainers, to taking a load to the pool – we find a lot of ways to use a reusable bag! (And a few disposable ones, to hold soiled kids clothes or dirty diapers for a trip!)
